PRESIDENT OF ACTIVITIES AND WELLBEING

AQSA RAZZAQ CHAUDHRY

My Ideas

The first thing I will do if elected:

The first thing I will do if elected: I will launch a Campus Wellbeing Survey to gather students' input on mental health, activities, and support services, ensuring that I prioritize and address the areas where you need the most support right from the start. This will help me create initiatives that reflect your needs and make immediate improvements for all.

The second thing I will do or change if elected:

I will prioritize your wellbeing by expanding mental health support across campus. This includes increasing access to counseling services, reducing stigma around mental health, and offering mindfulness workshops. I’ll also introduce stress-relief events, such as yoga sessions and meditation circles, particularly during exam periods, ensuring you have the tools to thrive both academically and personally.

Is there anything else you would like to share with voters as a candidate?

As your candidate for President - Activities & Wellbeing, I’m committed to making your university experience not just educational, but fulfilling and enjoyable. What I will focus on: More Inclusive Activities & Events: I’ll bring a diverse range of events, from social gatherings to career development opportunities, making sure there's something for everyone—no matter your interests. Improved Mental Health Support: I’ll advocate for better access to mental health resources, including counseling services, and introduce stress-relief activities like yoga sessions, mindfulness workshops, and peer support groups during exam periods. Affordable Student Life: I will work to bring more discounts, student perks, and affordable resources to ease the financial pressures of university life. A Real Voice in Decisions: Your opinions matter. I’ll set up regular feedback opportunities and engage with students directly to ensure your needs are at the heart of every decision I make. I am dedicated to listening to your concerns, implementing meaningful change, and creating an environment that fosters success, well-being, and community. Vote for me for a university where your voice is heard, your well-being is prioritized, and your time at Suffolk is one you’ll always remember for all the right reasons.

Especially for those who have moved away from home for university, living in accommodation or students that have travelled internationally. For example wellbeing walks, talks and exercise classes. Additionally monthly socials events, quizzes and nights out.

Both of my manifesto points will increase student participation in social aspects of university life as well as driving sport team participation.
