Reclaim the Night

The Reclaim the Night event is open to students, university staff and members of the public. Anyone who would like to join in should head to the university’s Waterfront Building from 4pm on Thursday 20 February. There will be a banner making session for people to take part in, and free teas and coffees supplied by Paddy & Scott’s.

At 6pm there will be opening speeches from the Students’ Union Women’s Officer and LGBTQ+ Officer, before the march leaves at 6.15pm.

The march route will be along the waterfront, St Peter’s Street, St Nicholas Street, Queen Street, Princes Street to the Cornhill.

At the Cornhill, at approximately 7pm, there will be some short speeches about the issue of violence against women and girls, and the event will finish with a candlelit vigil in memory of those killed by domestic and other violence.

Please note – under 18s are welcome at the event, but should be accompanied by an adult.
