19/05/2023 - A Night of Glamour, Diversity, and Celebrating Academic Excellence as the University of Suffolk SU hosts its Annual Awards Night.
The University of Suffolk Students' Union hosted its highly anticipated annual awards night on the 19th of May 2023, honoring the exceptional accomplishments and contributions of its students, faculty, and staff. The event took place at Arlington’s magnificent events space, drawing a vibrant crowd of attendees eager to celebrate the remarkable achievements of the academic community.
The night commenced with a warm welcome by the university's student president, Alex Gooch, commending the tireless efforts of all individuals involved in making the university a centre of excellence. The event's highlight was the presentation of various awards, such as the prestigious "Student Outstanding Contribution Award", recognising the student who had not only excelled academically but had also actively contributed to the campus through leadership, volunteer work, and community engagement.
As the applause echoed through the hall, the attention shifted to the remarkable staff members who were slated to receive the "Staff Outstanding Contribution Award". This esteemed recognition celebrated the dedication and hard work of the individual who consistently went above and beyond to make a positive impact on the university's operations and its students' lives.
The Awards Night also featured heartwarming speeches from the award recipients, sharing their journeys and inspiring stories of growth and achievement. They emphasized the power of unity and collaboration in fostering an environment where excellence thrives.

The event also consisted of a three course dinner, free for all nominees and their plus ones, providing an opportunity for attendees to interact and celebrate their accomplishments together. As the night came to a close, Deputy Vice-Chancellor Professor Mohammad Dastbaz delivered a closing address, expressing his immense pride in the remarkable accomplishments of the awardees and the university as a whole.
